Solving Inhomogeneous Wave Equation Cauchy Problems using Homotopy Perturbation Method

In this paper, He’s homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is applied to spatial one and three spatial dimensional inhomogeneous wave equation Cauchy problems for obtaining exact solutions. HPM is used for analytic handling of these equations. The results reveal that the HPM is a very effective, convenient and quite accurate to such types of partial differential equations (PDEs). Keywords—Homotopy ...

A Method for Solving Optimal Control Problems Using Genetic Programming

This paper deals with a novel method for solving optimal control problems based on genetic programming. This approach produces some trial solutions and seeks the best of them. If the solution cannot be expressed in a closed analytical form then our method produces an approximation with a controlled level of accuracy. Using numerical examples, we will demonstrate how to use the results.

Solving a class of linear and non-linear optimal control problems by homotopy perturbation method

In this paper, we give an analytical approximate solution for non-linear quadratic optimal control problems and optimal control of linear systems using the homotopy perturbation method (HPM). Applying the HPM, the non-linear two-point boundary-value problem (TPBVP) and linear systems, derived from the Pontryagin’s maximum principle, are transformed into a sequence of linear time-invariant TPBVP...

An application of differential transform method for solving nonlinear optimal control problems

In this paper, we present a capable algorithm for solving a class of nonlinear optimal control problems (OCP's). The approach rest mainly on the differential transform method (DTM) which is one of the approximate methods. The DTM is a powerful and efficient technique for finding solutions of nonlinear equations without the need of a linearization process. Utilizing this approach, the optimal co...

HOMOTOPY PERTURBATION METHOD FOR SOLVING FLOW IN THE EXTRUSION PROCESSES

In this paper, the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is considered for finding approximate solutions of two-dimensional viscous flow. This technique provides a sequence of functions which converges to the exact solution of the problem. The HPM does not need a small parameters in the equations, but; the perturbation method depends on small parameter assumption and the obtained results. In most ...
